Sebaceous hyperplasia refers to lesions that occur when sebaceous glands in the dermal layer of the skin abnormally enlarge.

In various procedures that address these lesions, a method of removing only the outwardly visible parts with a laser is often used.

However, since the sebaceous gland itself has not disappeared, there is a possibility of it protruding again over time.

For this approach, we utilize two types of equipment together.

1. Secret Agnes RF (Insulated Radiofrequency 1-pin Needle)

By directly delivering high-frequency energy to the areas with sebaceous glands,

we selectively coagulate and destroy the sebaceous glands.

Because an insulated micro-needle is used, damage to the epidermis or surrounding skin tissues can be reduced.

Its characteristic is that it delivers energy only to the desired sebaceous gland area.

This process can be a crucial step in managing the underlying cause.

2. Erbium YAG Laser (Er:YAG)

Compared to carbon dioxide (CO2) lasers, it allows for more precise depth control during ablation,

which can help precisely remove lesions protruding from the skin.

It can reduce damage to surrounding tissues, thereby lessening the burden of recovery time, and lowering the possibility of scar formation.

Depending on the patient's condition, it is also possible to combine it with a CO2 laser, to treat lesions of a wider range of depths.

There is a difference from simply removing the lesions.

Typical CO2 laser monotherapy only removes the outwardly visible parts, so the sebaceous glands within the skin remain intact, and there is a possibility of them reappearing.

Our combined treatment manages the sebaceous glands themselves and refines the surface lesions, which can help alleviate concerns about recurrence.
