Moles are skin lesions caused by an abnormal accumulation of melanin pigment in the epidermis or dermis.

Even if they look like similar pigment lesions, the treatment method can vary depending on their actual depth and location.

The Er:YAG laser is advantageous for thin and precise ablation of the skin surface, helping to gently remove shallow epidermal moles without damaging surrounding tissue.

It aims to reduce the risk of scarring and achieve aesthetic results, making it particularly useful for facial mole removal. Afterwards, treating the deeper part of the mole with a CO2 laser can help remove melanin cells that may remain deep in the skin. This process can be useful in preventing recurrence in situations where the mole appears to have disappeared but root tissue remains.

Finishing treatment using a CO2 laser can be considered especially in these cases:

-If the mole is slightly raised or feels thick to the touch

-If you have previously experienced a mole recurring in the same area

-If it appears to be a nevus located deep in the dermis (e.g., blue moles, grayish moles, etc.)


Flat warts are viral skin diseases caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. They appear to spread broadly on the skin's surface and may look like thin, widespread brown or flesh-colored small lesions. They are prone to occur when immunity is weakened and can spread to other areas by self-touching, so it is advisable to consider treatment relatively early.

The Er:YAG laser is effective at uniformly ablating the surface layer of the skin, making it useful for improving widespread flat wart lesions

in a single session. The goal is to remove the lesions evenly while reducing skin irritation. However, due to the nature of viral diseases, there is a possibility of recurrence if only the visible lesions are removed. In such cases, the process of applying heat around the lesion with a CO2 laser as a finishing step can help reduce the risk of recurrence by additionally treating virus-infected cells that may remain in the epidermis and surrounding areas.

It is particularly recommended to consider CO2 laser finishing treatment in the following cases:

-If the border of the lesion is unclear or it feels flat and spread out when touched. For individuals with weakened immunity (e.g., stress, lack of sleep)

-If you have experienced multiple recurrences previously

-If the lesions are in frequently touched or easily spreadable areas like hands or face


Milia are small, white cysts that form when keratin, a horny protein, becomes trapped beneath the skin. They primarily occur around the eyes, on the cheeks, and forehead. Unlike sebaceous cysts, they are classified as purely aesthetic lesions, not accompanied by infection or inflammation.

The Er:YAG laser can be effectively used to remove milia. It delicately ablates the skin surface to remove the thin epidermal part of the milia, creating a safe pathway to extract the trapped keratin from within. A light finishing treatment with a CO2 laser after removal can help reduce the possibility of remaining keratinocytes proliferating again and prevent milia from recurring in the same area. However, excessive heat stimulation to the skin can cause post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, requiring precise intensity control.

CO2 laser finishing may be particularly helpful in the following cases:

-If milia continuously reappear in the same location

-If you have experienced the lesion reappearing during the healing process after treatment

-If you desire a more even result during the skin regeneration process after removing multiple milia


Syringomas are benign lesions that appear due to the abnormal proliferation of sweat gland tissue in the dermis. They are characterized by multiple small, round, bead-like lesions typically appearing under the eyes, on the cheeks, and forehead. They can be genetic or relatively common in women in their 20s and 30s.

The Er:YAG laser can delicately treat the epidermis, making it suitable for syringoma treatment in sensitive areas like around the eyes. It is effective for refining the skin surface and removing the upper part of sweat gland lesions, with a low risk of scarring or hyperpigmentation after recovery, making it aesthetically considerable. Subsequently, applying heat with a CO2 laser

as a finishing process to provide subtle stimulation to the deeper part of the lesion can reduce the activity of sweat glands in the dermis,

and can be clinically considered to prevent syringomas from recurring in the same area. However, due to the depth of the lesions, multiple treatment sessions may be required.

In the following cases, combining CO2 laser finishing can help improve the outcome:

-If multiple syringomas are located relatively deep under the eyes or on the cheeks, etc.

-If you have experienced recurrence despite receiving multiple laser treatments previously

-When aiming to increase the expectation of preventing recurrence with a single treatment


Skin tags are benign skin lesions caused by an excessive proliferation of fibrous tissue and blood vessels in the dermis. They commonly appear in areas where skin frequently folds, such as the neck, armpits, under the breasts, and eyelids, observed as small, skin-colored protrusions. They are usually painless but can be irritated by clothing or body friction. Generally, the CO2 laser is primarily used for skin tag removal, efficiently treating multiple lesions based on its cutting ability and hemostatic effect. However, for small and thin skin tags, delicately ablating the lesion with an Er:YAG laser and then finishing the base with a CO2 laser can help remove the root tissue of the skin tag and reduce the likelihood of recurrence in that area. Heat stimulation can influence fibrous cells and microvessels in the tissue, contributing to regulating the regenerative environment.

CO2 laser finishing treatment is recommended in the following cases:

-If skin tags appear in areas with frequent friction, such as the neck or armpits

-If you have experienced skin tags recurring in the same area after treatment

-If the root of the lesion is deep or broad (e.g., if a raised mark remains after removal)


Thus, depending on the depth and characteristics of the skin lesion,

How long should DuoDerm (healing patch) be kept on after mole removal?





Mole removal procedures delicately remove the outer layer of the skin. During this process, very minor damage to the skin may occur.

Therefore, it is very important to properly protect and manage the treated area after the procedure.


Keeping the treated area moist to prevent dryness can have a positive impact on skin recovery and scar prevention.

For this, we recommend applying a hydrocolloid bandage, also known as DuoDerm, which is a moist dressing.


DuoDerm helps maintain a moist environment for the wound, aiding in the generation of new skin cells. It can also reduce the formation of thick scabs, thereby lowering the possibility of scar development.


It is recommended to apply DuoDerm immediately after mole removal, change it every 3-5 days, and continue management for at least 7 days.

A total management period of approximately 10 days is generally recommended.


If using DuoDerm is difficult or an allergic reaction occurs, apply a regenerating cream or moisturizing gel frequently to keep the skin from drying out. Additionally, it is important to carefully use sunscreen with an SPF of 50 or higher and avoid touching the treated area.


Post-mole removal care is a crucial step that goes beyond simple wound protection and significantly impacts the procedure's outcome.
